Sometimes, for what seems like no reason to the casual onlooker, a massively successful Kickstarter cancels its campaign midway through. This happened with Euthia in May earlier this year (2022). The backers didn’t understand why, after raising the funds they did, Diea Games had to cancel the project. However, Steamforged Games recently announced in a press release that they have acquired the rights to Euthia, and will be working with Diea Games to bring the previously canceled game back to life.
Euthia first hit Kickstarer in 2020 and has been rated a lofty 8.8 by the community on Board Game Geek. Inspired by RPG video games, Euthia provides an open-world sandbox experience for 1-4 players. In keeping with its epic fantasy nature, players embark on epic adventures in an ever-expanding world made possible by modular map tiles. The game hits many target audiences as well, playing competitively, cooperatively, and solo. Now, with Steamforged’s support and experience, Diea Games has what it needs to successfully revive Euthia and bring with it exciting new expansions.
Steamforged had humble beginnings, much like Diea, and they remember what it was like to have a game they believed in face seemingly overwhelming odds. So, with their past in mind and empathy flowing, Steamforged reached out to Diea to see what could be done. With the two companies teaming up, Euthia will live again and Diea has what it needs to become a true development studio, something they’ve been vying for since their beginnings.
Euthia will return to Kickstarter on July 26, 2022 with three straightforward pledge levels. All content from the Kickstarter will not be going to retail, so if you’re interested in having Euthia as your own, you’ll need to back the project.
